HOUSTON—A Houston mother shot and killed her 19-year-old son following an argument at their home Monday, according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.
Nesha Kraidieh was charged with murder.
Kraidieh and her son, Phillip Vanshawn Apostolo, argued twice at their home that day in the 5000 block of Sandydale Lane, deputies said.
During the first argument, Kraidieh said her son pushed her.
The two began to argue again later and, after that, Kradieh shot her son in the head while he was sitting on the couch.
Those who knew Apostolo described the young man as “troubled.” He and his mother argued in the past and he damaged her property during a violent outburst.
On April 2, 2012, court documents state Apostolo damaged two televisions, an entertainment center, the garage door, a bedroom door, a bedroom set, a wall frame and a table at his mother’s home in a fit of rage. He was charged with criminal mischief, but the case against him was dismissed because Kraidieh would not pursue the charges.
Another time, Apostolo was arrested for criminal trespassing and sentenced to three days confinement.
