(KMOV) – A Texas college student said he was trying to send a message when he wore a pasta strainer for his official motor vehicle identification.
“I’d say the most influential point that I’m trying to make is that it teaches acceptance and it teaches a different outlook,” said Eddie Castillo, a student at Texas Tech Univesity.
Castillo is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. While the name sounds odd, the religious group actually has millions of followers.
After months of fighting Texas state officials, Castillo was allowed to wear the strainer in his DMB photos ID.
He said it was a political and religious milestone for atheists everywhere.
