(KMOV.com) – A lawmaker in Texas wants to change the age for tanning in the Lone Star State.

Currently, Texas law says those who are 16.5 years old can tan with a parent’s permission. The legislator proposing the bill wants the age changed to 18.

The lawmaker says research suggests those who are under 18 are at a greater risk for developing skin cancer because of tanning.
