BEAVERTON, Ore. (KGW.com) -- A driver who crashed into an overpass railing was stuck inside the vehicle as it dangled over a highway in Oregon on Saturday.

Crews were able to secure the vehicle to a fire truck to keep it from falling, and used a fire truck with a basket to get the driver out of the pickup safely.

Matthew Hamilton, 38, was driving the pickup truck at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital, but did not appear to be seriously hurt.

Authorities say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash

Traffic opened in northbound lanes after being closed in both directions. Southbound lanes were closed completely and would be open for an extended period of time, authorities said.
