FILE - In this May 8, 2009 file photo, former Bolingbrook, Ill., police sergeant Drew Peterson yells to reporters as he arrives at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet, Ill. On Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, a judge will hear arguments about the admissibility of the state's new hearsay law to the Peterson's case. He is charged in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and is also a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife. The law would essentially allow Savio to testify from the grave by admitting testimony of family and friends about how she feared Peterson might kill her. (AP Photo/M. Spencer Green, File)

CHICAGO (AP) -- Drew Peterson is trying to stop a television movie about the disappearance of his fourth wife and death of his third wife.

Peterson is in jail charged with murder in the 2004 death of Kathleen Savio. And police say he's a suspect, although he's never been charged, in the 2007 disappearance of Stacy Peterson.

A few weeks ago, reports surfaced that Lifetime Television was filming a movie about Peterson, starring Rob Lowe as the former Bolingbrook police officer.

Peterson's attorney Walter Maksym (MAK'-sihm) says he's sent a letter to those involved with the movie saying that the commercial use of Peterson's name, likeness and story are illegal because Peterson didn't give his written authorization as required by law.
