SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police said beer may have been a motivating factor in a stabbing near downtown Sunday evening.
A man in his early 50s was walking south on Zarzamora near the intersection with Guadalupe Street when he was stabbed multiple times.
He had two cans of beer with him at the time.
Police couldn’t pry much information from the victim because he was intoxicated at the time of the attack.
It is unknown how many attackers were involved.
"Nothing was taken. He had mentioned something about possibly them taking his beer that he was in possession of, but it wasn't taken at this time," SAPD officer Matthew Alvarado said.
The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
