Firefightes battle early morning flames in Metro East

(KMOV.com) – Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in the Metro east on Saturday.

A fire broke out at a home in the 100 block of St. Paul in Cahokia around 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters said that despite the heavy damage they were able to control the blaze and put the flames out.

According to investigators, the fire may have started in the stove.

No injuries were reported.

 No other details were immediately available.
