(KMOV.com) – A man is accused of placing a camera in a fitting room at a Target store in Washington, Mo.
Authorities said a man, who is a customer at the store, installed a camera in a unisex changing room June 8.
“Underneath the bench, the bench where you sit down, there was a dome, a red dome, so it fit into the whole target scheme,” said Det. Kevin Blackburn with Washington police. “Inside that dome was a small recording device.”
Blackburn said the suspect planted the camera while he was trying on pants. Police said he then went out to the parking lot, changed clothes, and re-entered the store.
“Once he re-entered the store, all he did was walk around in circles and he exited again,” Blackburn said.
Police said the camera was in place for only a couple hours before an employee discovered the device.
“People’s legs were shown, all you can see is the bottom portion of their legs, that’s all you can see in the video,” Blackburn said.
Authorities said the suspect was arrested a week after the camera was discovered. His name has not been released because he has not been charged.
