Avery Jones, 25, was charged Thursday with second degree domestic assault by the Warrenton Police Department.

According to court documents, on December 2, Warrenton police responded o the 2000 block of Villas of Hawthorne Drive for a domestic assault call.

The victim told police Jones choked her and held a knife on her after she threw a blanket on him following an argument in which he refused to turn down the music on his cell phone.

According to the police report, Jones became enraged after being hit with the blanket and proceeded to get on top of the victim and strangle her.

The victim said Jones warned her during the struggle to not make any noise because he did not want to wake his sister sleeping in the home.  He then held a pocket knife to her throat for about a minute.

Jones reportedly said, “You think I’m joking?”
