(KMOV.com) – The victim of an accident where a car was driving the wrong way in St. Louis has been identified.

Police said 26-year-old Ryan Roach of Glen Carbon, IL was killed when his car collided with another vehicle that was going the wrong way on I-64 near Chestnut Friday morning.  Witnesses told News 4   the female suspect drove westbound on the Chestnut and 20th exit meant for eastbound drivers and continued driving west in eastbound lanes on I-64. 

Police  said witnesses told them the suspect narrowly avoided hit another driver shortly before colliding with Roach’s vehicle, which burst into flames upon impact.
 
“She was semi responsive and she was attempting to assist us with our investigation to the best that she could in her state,” said Lt. Carlos Ross of the St. Louis Police Department.
 
There is a wrong way sign posted at the exit where she entered the highway .Police said the suspect did not give them reason why she was driving the wrong way, but agreed to provide them with a blood sample to test for drugs and alcohol. Results of that test are not back yet.
