WENTZVILLE, Mo. – A Wentzville man was arrested on burglary and theft charges, and police say his peculiar walk and gesturing gave him away.

David Moore, 21, is accused of breaking into Nu Way Concrete Forms in the 110 block of Resource Drive earlier this month and taking nearly $1,500.

Officers reviewing surveillance video noticed the distinctive walk of the masked suspect, who pointed his toes outward in a duck-footed gait and gestured at the camera with what appeared to be a “peace” sign.

Police compared the tape to surveillance shot during business hours and noticed a man with the same shoes and the same walk inside the business four days earlier.

Employees had been suspicious because the man wore a coat and gloves on a warm day, so they wrote down his license plate number.

Police said property taken during the burglary has been recovered.

Authorities are still investigating several other robberies that have recently occurred in Wentzville. They are looking into whether Moore may be connected to them.

Anyone with information on those cases is asked to call the Wentzville Police Department at 636-327-5105.

The Associated Press contributed to this reported.
