(KMOV) – A suspect is in custody after surrendering during a SWAT stand-off in Manchester Wednesday night.

Police said officers were dispatched to the 410 block of Auber Dr. around 7:25 p.m. after getting reports of a suicidal subject with a gun.

Upon their arrival, police talked to a woman who said her 38-year-old suicidal ex-boyfriend barricaded himself inside the bedroom armed with a handgun.

SWAT responded to the scene and set up a perimeter around the house and a military friend of the suspect spoke to him from the street.

Police said officers talked to the suspect on the phone and eventually got him to surrender by about 8:55 p.m. He was taken into custody about 20 minutes later and was transported to the hospital for the psychiatric evaluation.

Authorities said two fully-loaded guns and additional ammo were seized during the incident.
