(KMOV) – A suspect was charged Tuesday in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in south St. Louis following an investigation by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police.

Tyrone Taylor, 20, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action according to a statement released by the Circuit Attorney’s Office.

On Thursday, August 15, 2013, officers responded to the 500 block of Eiler to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Antoine Bryant, 17, lying in front of the residence and suffering from gunshot wounds to his shoulder.

According to police, Taylor emerged from an alley and shot Bryant multiple times while he rode his gas-powered scooter in the 4700 block of Louisiana around 6:30 p.m.

Authorities said Bryant fled the scene on his scooter and drove several blocks to the intersection of Virginia and Eiler where a passerby noticed him and called 911.

Bryant was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead later that evening.

Authorties said Taylor was out on bond and awaiting trial for receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and property damage prior to the shooting.

Taylor is being held without bond.
