(KMOV.com) – Staff at the Sunrise Senior Living Center told News 4 they are trying to contain the norovirus.
Workers told News 4 the staff is serving more meals to residents in individual rooms, limiting group activities, and disinfecting rooms.
The St. Louis County Health Department said two dozen people contracted the virus, which causes diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea; dehydration is also a concern.
Most people recover after a few days of being sick. Health officials recommend those who have the illness to wash their hands often and not prepare food.
