(KMOV) – The St. Louis Treasurer’s Office announced they will be hiring a consultant to evaluate the city’s on and off street parking programs.
“The city should consider putting new meters in this area,” said Megan Murphy who lives downtown.“I think that will benefit people who don’t have change. I realize they don’t run late, but it might be an idea just to keep the parking a bit more sane around here".
In February, News 4 reported drivers in downtown were continually being ticketed despite paying at certain parking meters in the Locust Business District. The Treasurer’s Office admitted to the lack of signage and said, in a statement, they would work to establish a better way to indicate permit areas and parking zones.
News 4 will continue to follow this story and provide more details as they develop.
