(KMOV) – A teacher at Soldan High School in the St. Louis Public School District faces charges after prosecutors say he had sex with a student near school property.

David Marler, 32, was charged with five counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, five counts of sexual contact and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to court documents, Marler and a male student on April 21 went to a home near the intersection of Cates and Union sometime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Police said while there, Marler and the Soldan student engaged in several sexual acts including anal sex.

The victim also said Marler provided him with some kind of inhalant and told the student to inhale the fumes, which caused him to become dizzy and lightheaded.

Marler is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Police are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Marler to contact them at (314) 444-5385.
