(KMOV) -- St. Louis Rams play their second preseason game Saturday and there’s a big change for a lot of fans headed to the Edward Jones Dome or any NFL stadium.
The league has a new rule restricting how big of a bag fas can bring in.
Fans at Rams practice had no idea that the largest bag they can bring into an NFL game is now 6.5” by 4.5” inches, the size of a small clutch.
“(A clutch) only fits my cards and my money, so that’s going to be kind of inconvenient,” Michelle Romero said.
The NFL is doing this for two reasons: safety and to get fans into the stadium quicker.
The league will also allow each fan to bring in a 12” by 12” clear tote bag and a one gallon freezer bag.
“I wouldn’t personally buy a clear bag because I don’t want people seeing my personal stuff,” Romero said.
The Rams organization is working to finalize the details to implement these new restrictions for their first pre-season home game on August 17th.
“For what I need if I’ve got the kids, and we wouldn’t be at a game without the kids, that’s half the fun, I wouldn’t be able to fit everything I need,” mom and Rams fan Tanya Archer said.
News 4 checked to see if these changes could be coming to other stadiums in St. Louis. A spokesperson for the Cardinals says there are no plans by them to implement the same bag rules as the NFL.
