(KMOV.com) - Police said a man was kidnapped outside Scottrade Center and then sexually assaulted and robbed several blocks away.
According to the police report, a 19-year-old man was walking in the 200 block of 14th St. at 4:30 a.m. on April 11 when he was approached by two men who both showed firearms.
“With Scottrade being there and all the buses coming through to go to the station, and the police going through to go to headquarters, I think it was very brazen to do that,” said Tiauna Jones, who works downtown.
Police said the victim was then forced to walk more than a half mile to the 1900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. where he was allegedly sexually assaulted then robbed of some of his belongings. After the attack the victim called police and went to the hospital to be evaluated.
“There is a lot of good people here in this neighborhood so if they saw something, they would definitely say something about it,” said Bob Eyler, who lives near the 1900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. “So this is quite unusual.”
Police are still searching for the suspects. Anyone with information regarding the attack should contact the St. Louis Police Department.
