ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police are searching for suspects after a man was shot in north St. Louis city Friday evening.

Police said an 18-year-old man was shot in the neck after he heard gun shots near the intersection of Broadway and Cass around 5 p.m. The man drove to 9th and broadway where he stopped because his tires were flat. He then enter a near by hotel to contact police and get help for his gunshot wound.

Customers inside Shady Jack's on North Broadway told News 4 they took cover after hearing gunshots just outside the bar.

The victim was transported to the hospital with a graze wound to the right side of his neck. Police searched the victim's car and found illegal narcotics. There is no word yet on charges.

At least two men were taken into custody on the scene, but police have not confirmed whether they were linked to the shooting.

Investigators found numerous shell casings at the scene.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. The cause of the shooting remains unknown.
