Arrest made in Creve Coeur standoff; roads reopen

Police presence shuts down 3 Creve Coeur roads

CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV) – A man was arrested Monday morning following an 11-hour standoff in Creve Coeur.
 
St.Louis County Police said they assisted Creve Coeur Police with an armed, barricaded person. The situation had several local roads closed, but they have all since reopened.

Creve Coeur Police say they received a call from the a relative of the suspect before 12:00 a.m. saying they were worried about him. 
 
Police went to his apartment at Kings Landing in the 600 block of New Ballas but he did not come out. They determined he was armed and had fired a weapon. 
 
As a result, police called the tactical unit who responded around 1:30 a.m. Olivette Police, Ballwin Police, Chesterfield Police, St. Louis County Police and Creve Coeur Fire also responded. 
 
Police say they made a “forcible entry”, but did not comment on the details.

The man was taken into custody around 11:00 Monday.  Details surrounding his arrest were not made immediately available. 
 
 The name of the suspect has not been released.
