Why police say death of 82-year-old Granite City man wasn't natural

(KMOV) -- Granite City Police are investigating a homicide at a home in the 2800 block of Harding Blvd. Thursday morning.

Police received a call that there was a person dead inside the home at about 3:30 a.m. 
 
When officers arrived on scene they discovered the body of an 82-year-old Woodrow Dilday who was one of the homeowners.
 
Police said preliminary results show that he had blunt forced trauma to the head.
 
His 54-year-old daughter was taken into custody from the home and is awaiting charges. Police are not currently releasing the identity of the victim or the suspect. 
 
Neighbors said that the family mostly kept to themselves. The man who was murdered had mobility issues and was not seen out of the house often. 
 
The investigation is ongoing.
