(KMOV.com) –St. Louis County police told News 4 they arrested a suspect after a high speed chase in north St. Louis Friday.

Police said the chase started on Highway 367 near Parker Road in north St. Louis County when an officer tried to pull the suspect over because the vehicle matched the description of a car used in a bank robbery in Hazelwood.

Police told News 4 the pursuit ended at the intersection of West Florissant and Emerson around 5 p.m. Police said the suspect’s car hit a stop sign and fire hydrant before the suspect fled on foot, but he was quickly caught.

St. Louis County police said they found clothes and cash in the suspect's car. Authorities said they are investigating to determine if he is connected to the bank robbery.

Authorities said the suspect was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered serious.
