(KMOV) – Released surveillance video shows thieves stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry during a smash-and-grab at a Cahokia pawn shop on Tuesday.

Surveillance video obtained by News 4 shows a Chevrolet Impala pull up to the Jewelry Exchange and Loan Pawn Ship on 95 Water St. just before 3:15 a.m.

Four men in coats, hoodies and masks – some holding bags - get out of the car , then head back to the vehicle. Three of the men then walk up to the store and break the front window.

The video shows the men go straight to a cabinet with black cloth on it and one of the suspects kicks in the glass.

The suspects start grabbing trays, taking at least 150 pieces of jewelry estimated at a value of between $15,000 and $25,000.

Police said the suspects were out of the store within 30 seconds and fled in a car believed to be a Chevrolet Impala.

Authorities arrived within minutes, but the suspects were already gone.

We’ll be sure to update this developing story as more information becomes available.
