HOUSTON – A suspect who boldly shot his ex-girlfriend in the head in broad daylight Saturday managed to ditch police during a high-speed chase along I-45 Sunday evening.

Joshua World is considered armed and dangerous. Every local law enforcement agency has World’s picture and are on the lookout for the brazen suspect who has been on a dangerous rampage since the day he ambushed his girlfriend in southeast Houston.

Houston police said on Saturday, World walked up to 26-year-old Jeannette Ochoa around 11:30 a.m. as she was moving into a new home on Hagerman Street, placed a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. Ochoa was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment, clinging to life. After undergoing hours of surgery, she remains in extremely critical condition with her family by her side. Tensions are high, because World remains on the loose.

World has no intention of being taken down easily. When officers spotted him the next day, he led them on a wild chase down I-45.

World opened fire on police, shattering the glass on several patrol vehicles, and also crashed into several innocent drivers on the highway. Luckily, no one was hurt, but World got away after driving into a neighborhood along West Bay Area Blvd. in Friendswood.

Police warn that anyone who comes across World should absolutely not approach him and just contact authorities.
