(KMOV.com) -- An elderly man was killed after crashing into a building during a multi-vehicle accident in St. Charles County Sunday afternoon.

St. Charles Authorities said a Dodge van was pulling out of the Wal-Mart parking lot in the 2800 block of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway around 1 p.m. when it was hit by a Ford F250 truck.

Police said the impact caused the truck to run off the road and run into an Urgent Care facility at 2893 Veteran’s Memorial Parkway.

According to authorities, the driver and passenger in the van had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The 88-year-old man driving the van was pronounced dead at the hospital. An 81-year-old woman in the passenger seat was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the people in the truck were not injured.

St. Charles Police are investigating the wreck.
