Metro-East authorities search for man accused of impersonating police

(KMOV) – Madison County authorities are searching for a man allegedly impersonating a police officer in the Godfrey, Illinois area.

A female motorist says she was stopped by a man driving a vehicle with a flashing blue light.

The victim says the man had a badge and gave her a verbal warning about her vehicle registration offense.

The man has been described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old and stands at approximately six-feet-three inches tall. He has brown crew-cut hair and no facial hair.

He was seen wearing a blue button-up shirt and dark-colored pants.

Falsely impersonating a police officer is a Class 4 Felony in the State of Illinois.
