(KMOV.com) – Authorities say they arrested a man wanted for firing shots at his elderly parents, then disappearing into the woods in Lonedell on Sunday.

Deputies said the man pulled out a rifle and fired the shots inside a home on Oak Grove Church Rd. around 1:45 p.m.

SWAT teams from Franklin and Jefferson counties responded to a call around 5 p.m. from the suspect’s mother. Police say dogs with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department tracked down the suspect in a wooded area near the intersection of Highway 30 and Pierce Creek Rd.

The man was taken into custody without incident. Authorities did not say if the suspect was armed when he was captured. His name was not released.

Charges have yet to be filed in the case.
