ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – Police have identified a man who was found dead on a downtown St. Louis Metrolink platform Tuesday night.
Police say Charles Campbell, 33, was found unconscious on the platform of the Laclede's Landing Metrolink stop located at 2nd and Washington Avenue. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:40 p.m. Officials said he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Homicide detectives are investigating Campbell's death. So far, there is no word on possible suspects.
According to MetroLink officials, the guard who was assigned to patrol the station and surrounding area was not on the platform at the time of the shooting.
