Surveillance video released of suspect in local gas station murder

(KMOV) -- The Major Case Squad has released additional surveillance video they hope will help find the man responsible for murdering a clerk at a local gas station on Saturday night. 

Captain Sean Fagan said sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. a man entered the Conoco Gas Station located on 10320 Bellefontaine Road and shot Irshad Kahn before taking an undisclosed amount of money.

A patron of the gas station called 911 after finding the clerk lying on the floor unresponsive.

According to police, Kahn died from at least one gunshot wound.

Kahn, 63, was the owner and clerk of the gas station for more than 10 years. He was described by those who knew him as friendly and generous.

Authorities are actively searching for the suspect who fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-years-old, who is 5 foot 7. He was least seen wearing a red shirt, dark pants and red shoes.

If you recognize the suspect, police advise you to call 911 or crimestoppers.
