St. Charles County park closed for bat population research

(KMOV) – Legacy Park in Cottleville is closed to the public this week so research can be conducted on the bat population.

Researchers from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are studying bats by putting up large nets in several locations.

No information was immediately available regarding which species are being researched or why. There are three different endangered species of bats in Missouri.

The study will take place until Friday.
