(KMOV) – A Jefferson County resident tells News 4 he and dozens of others in the area received fliers from the Ku Klux Klan in their yards Tuesday night.

Kirk Crider lives in a trailer park just south of Fenton in the outskirts of Jefferson County. Crider says he was leaving for work when he noticed items in his and several of his neighbors’ driveways. He picked one up and saw a flier in a plastic bag weighed down by small rocks.

The flier says the Ku Klux Klan is performing a neighborhood watch in Crider’s neighborhood. “You can sleep tonight knowing the Klan is awake!" it reads.

Additional fliers were distributed at a nearby apartment complex.

Fenton officials tell News 4 they have not had any reports of the fliers.

Crider says the fliers were distributed to approximately 150 homes.
