(KMOV.com) -- Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire in Washington Park that completely destroyed the home.
The family inside the apartment told News 4 they were sitting side by side when the fire began Sunday.
“We wake up in the morning, sit on the porch,” said resident Sedrick Moore, “We heard stuff dropping and popping. We got up and ran into the house and we saw nothing but smoke.”
The family said they only had three working outlets so they ran numerous extension cords to provide electricity.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Officials reported the fire happened around 10:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of 46th Street.
