A homeless man who found $77,000 in cash and gold coins along the banks of the Colorado River will get to keep the money.

The Bastrop City Council voted Timothy Yost can have the money he found back on Jan. 18.  The city has had possession of it since it was discovered -- as officials worked to find the owner.

Yost told police he found the bag of money when he went to wash his feet in the river.

He's currently in jail on charges of public intoxication.
