(KMOV.com) -- Emergency crews closed part of Highway 100 in far west St. Louis County Sunday afternoon after a serious multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities said Highway 100 was closed between Highway 109 and Taylor Road. It has since reopened.
Three cars were involved in the accident that injured four people, according to police. Emergency crews had to extract one of the victims. Police also said one of the victims was airlifted to the hospital.
Police said the accident happened after a car, heading eastbound on Highway 100, crossed the median and hit two other cars. Officials do not know what caused the car to cross into oncoming traffic.
Authorities report that all victims are expected to be okay.
