(KMOV.com) – An Excessive Heath Warning is in effect for the St. Louis Metro area until Monday with a heat index reaching between 105-110 degrees.
4 Warn Chief Meteorologist Steve Templeton said the warning could extend through Tuesday as temperatures will still be high, but gradually cooling down throughout the day.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for the surrounding area through Monday, as well.
The NWS asks that people take extra precautions if working or spending time outside when possible and to wear light weight and loose fitting clothing.
Remember to check on the elderly and to not leave any pets outside for long periods of time.
