(KMOV.com) -- Beginning on Saturday, an emergency services company will assist St. Charles County with tree debris removal in the areas damaged by last week's storms.

St. Charles County has spent more than a $1 million in response efforts, and officials say that number is expected to rise.

The county is waiving some permit and inspection fees to help homeowners with the cost of repairs.

DRC Emergency Services recommends that residents avoid parking in the street in order to give the debris pick-up trucks more room to work.

The Red Cross continues to support residents affected by last Friday's storms at the casework center in Berkeley.

Residents who experienced major damage to their home can receive assistance at the center from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
