ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Police have identified the 43-year-old man killed after his SUV veered off the road and smashed into a home in north St. Louis on Friday night.
Police say Anthony Brock, 43, was driving a white 2002 Chevrolet SUV northbound on Hall Street around 6 p.m. when it left the roadway and struck a multi-family residence on Thrush Avenue. The vehicle crashed through a brick wall, then caught fire.
Brock was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters worked to keep the flames from spreading to the building.
No residents were injured in the crash, but officials said the building sustained serious structural damage. Fire officials said the Red Cross had been called in to assist the residence's eight families in finding temporary housing.
According to fire officials, the house may be condemned due to structural damage.
Investigators have not determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
