(KMOV.com) – Officials confirm that a downtown St. Louis park will have metal fencing and a gate.

In 90 days, downtown’s Lucas Park will be surrounded in an iron fence. Currently, there is a temporary fence.

The park has been notorious for homeless trespassers, and some say the fence will keep them away.

Without a fence, people tend to enter through any location, cutting through shrubs and ornamented beds. Officials said making people use the entrance will preserve the landscape.

According to the park director, once the fence is up, the park will be cleared and locked at 10:00 p.m. daily.
