(KMOV.com) – Many school districts are deciding to use early dismals for upcoming winter weather because they have already used all the snow days allocated to them.

Under state law, schools in Missouri must get in three hours of class time to avoid making up a snow day.  Many districts have no more snow days available for use and have begun using “Act of God days” during the winter weather.

Superintendents say that they know this is tough on parents who will be working. They say they will be using text messages, emails and robo-calls to keep parents informed.
