Driver ejected, killed after 2-car accident in west St. Louis County

(KMOV.com) -- A crash along I-64 in St. Louis County left one person dead and two others injured Saturday night.

Missouri State Police said Chevrolet S10 car was traveling too fast for the rainy road conditions along I-64 just West of Boones Crossing when the driver lost control and spun out in front of a semi-truck.

Police reported the Chevy then overturned and ejected the driver, 34-year-old David Hoffman, from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police stated the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Two others were injured in the roll-over accident. 25-year-old Brittany Ruckman and 33-year-old Christopher Jackson were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The accident happened along I-64 eastbound at 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
