GLEN CARBON, Ill. (AP) -- Investigators believe freezing weather contributed to the weekend death of an 83-year-old southern Illinois woman.

Madison County Coroner Stephen Nonn says a Glen Carbon police patrolman found Mary Kampwerth's frozen body Saturday morning. She was fully clothed and on her driveway.

Nonn says there were no signs of trauma.

The coroner says it's unclear how long Kampwerth had been outside before her body was found. But he says evidence at the scene, along with the accumulation of newspapers and mail, suggests Kampwerth may have been there as early as two days earlier.

An autopsy was inconclusive, and toxicology tests are pending.
