COLLINSVILLE, Ill (KMOV.com) -- The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged Travis King, of New Douglas, Illinois with two counts of aggravated driving while under the influence Tuesday.
Police said King, 23, was driving on eastbound Interstate 270 just west of Interstate 55 around 8 a.m on October 20 when rear-ended a truck driven by Vera Davis, 27.
The collision flipped the truck, and sent King's car down an embankment.
Davis was ejected from her vehicle, and suffered moderate injuries. She was transported by ARCH helicopter to a hospital in St. Louis, where she was treated and later released. King also suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Davis' mother, 62-year-old Geraldine Davis, was a passenger in the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bail for King was set at $60,000.
