(KMOV.com) -- A serious two-vehicle crash closed a section of westbound Interstate 64 in Lake St. Louis for about an hour on Friday afternoon.
The collision happened on westbound I-64 near Prospect Road around 4 p.m.
Police and emergency crews worked to clear the accident, which appeared to be a head-on collision between two SUVs.
Traffic was backed up for miles along I-64 as the damaged vehicles were loaded onto tow trucks. The accident scene was cleared by 5 p.m.
Police have not said what caused the crash, or whether there were any injuries.
