(KMOV) -- Authorities say the Amtrak train “Texas Eagle” struck and killed a pedestrian on the tracks in Lincoln, Illinois on Friday.
The train, en route to San Antonio, Texas from Chicago, was scheduled to stop in St. Louis at 6:22 p.m. Friday evening, but was running late. The train was passing through Lincoln at 6:45 when it hit and killed 58-year-old Thomas Pegram.
The Logan County coroner's office says the initial cause of death was blunt force trauma.
It was reported the train was carrying 121 passengers at the time of accident, however no one onboard was injured.
