NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV) – A four-year-old boy is being treated at a hospital after nearly drowning in a pool at a north St. Louis County apartment complex on Tuesday evening.

The child was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived to the pool at the Sunswept Apartment Complex off of New Halls Ferry, according to the assistant chief of the Black Jack Fire Department.

The boy’s condition is not known at this time.

It is not clear what led to the near-drowning.  A St. Louis County Police spokesperson told News 4 that he did not have any information on whether the police would be involved and that the information can wait until Wednesday since this incident is not a fatality.
