(KMOV) – Police are searching for two suspects after three men were hurt in a drive-by shooting in University City on Sunday.

According to police, four men in their 20s were sitting inside a car in the 1200 block of Eastover when a blue Hyundai vehicle drove by.

Police said someone inside that vehicle shot into the victims’ car, striking three of the men. One of the victims got shot in the side, another was hit in the leg and the third suffered a graze wound to the arm. Police said two stray bullets were shot into a home where one of the victims lives. According to police, the bullets narrowly missed his mother who was inside at the time. The victims were taken to the hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Residents told News 4 violent crime is unusual in their neighborhood.

"It's kind of devastating because this is a quiet area, we don't have any problems," Charlotte Robbins said.

Authorities said the Hyundai was occupied by two men. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call University City police at 314-725-2211 or Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
