ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – Police are searching for a man after dozens of marijuana plants were found growing inside a home in the Defiance area earlier this month.

Scott Heining, 36, was charged with producing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related items.

According to the St. Charles County Drug Task Force, detectives executed a search warrant at Heining’s home in the 2900 block of South Highway 94 on September 4.

While searching the home, officers found 89 marijuana plants, five grow lights and two air filters used to grow the plants in the basement, according to authorities.

Deputies said they contacted Heining the next day, but he told authorities he would not turn himself in and planned on going to Colorado.

According to the drug task force, Heining has a criminal history in both Kansas and Colorado.
