ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- The man accused of breaking into the wrong hotel room and molesting a nine-year-old girl was released from jail.

Daniel Hughes, 42, posted Thursday 10 percent of his $400 thousand bond. A judge allowed him to pay a portion of his bond to go home to Pennsylvania.

Originally, Hughes’ bond was set at $250 thousand, but a St. Louis County judge raised it and ordered the suspect to stay at his home in Philadelphia and attend all court hearings.

According to officials, Hughes is accused of breaking into the wrong room at the Ritz Carlton when he was in town for a company event.

Police say Hughes was drunk when he asked the desk clerk for an extra room key.

The desk clerk gave Hughes the key to the wrong room without checking his registration.
