ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOV) – Police are searching for a woman they say tried to rob a St. Peters liquor store, but left with nothing after an employee did not cooperate.

According to police, the suspect walked into the HR Liquor Mini Market in the 2900 block of North St. Peters Parkway around 8:55 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the suspect was carrying a black semi-automatic gun and walked behind the main counter and demanded money.

Authorities said the employee did not immediately cooperate with the suspect, possibly because she speaks broken English and did not understand.

After the employee did not comply, the suspect struck the employee in the face with her gun.

According to police, the suspect then tried to grab the store employee’s burse, but she took it back and used her cell phone to dial 9-1-1.

The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

Police said she was a black woman with a medium build. She was a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans and a black ski mask when the incident occurred.

The store employee suffered a bruise under her eye, but she did not get medical treatment.

Authorities said during the robbery, a man was standing outside the door who may be involved.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call police at 636-278-2244.
