BRIDGETON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police say at least one person was pepper sprayed during an argument that started inside a Bridgeton superstore and trickled into the parking lot.

According to reports, the dispute started inside the Target store located at 12275 St. Charles Rock Road around 9:30 p.m.

Police said two groups of women got in some sort of argument over an unknown matter. As they left the store, the dispute became physical. Police said one person was sprayed with pepper spray.

As one group left the scene, a woman noticed her purse was missing. Officers responded to the scene to investigate.

Authorities said the two groups of women did not know each other.

Further details have not yet been released.
